The 6th Tynemouth (Holy Saviour's) Scout Group was first registered in 1926. The official aim of the Scout Association is to encourage the physical, mental, and spiritual developement of young people so that they may take a constructive place in society. We aim to provide an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership.
We have our own Scout and Guide Head Quarters in Tynemouth which is used by all the scouting and guiding organisations.
Beaver Colony
For boys aged 6 - 8 years. The theme of Beavers is mainly based on fun but boys are gently moulded towards the day when they will join the Cub Scouts.
Cub Scouts
For boys aged 8-101/2 years. As a Cub Scout the boy learns many things which include building up an acceptable friendly, competitive spirit which stands them in good stead when they move on the the Scouts.
The Scouts
The Scout Group is for boys aged 101/2 to 151/2 years after boys have moved from the cub scouts and prepares them to move onto the Venture unit where they can continue in scouting until the age of 20.
